This is a solid 4+ star show. The Boyz are really on their game instrumentally tonight. And Jerry and Donna are singing well - which helps tremendously. Rousing start with a spectacular Bertha > Good Lovin'. And njpg and Silverstein are correct - gorgeous Candyman and Peggy-O. All the songs are very well done. And I can't complain about anything. Well, I'd rather not have R&R as the closer. But it's the first Werewolves Of London. So that makes up for it.

And Hunter's mix is beautiful. The sound is so nice, I'm bumping it up to five. Wonderful not to have to add any reverb. That is quite rare. It's a very mellow, clean matrix that is natural to sounding like a primo, tenth row DFC FOB. You can't ask for much more in mimicking the Mouth Of The Beast. A good board makes all the difference. I have to admit I really didn't appreciate this matrix until I put on the phones. Another great job of mixing from Uncle Jubal.

And I have to eat a little crow with the stars today. I originally gave this only an average rating of three a few days ago. But since listening to it a few times, I admit I was wrong. This is definitely not "X" Factor. But I'm giving this a five because it's so pleasurable to listen to. Some shows are downright balls-to-the-wall explosive with "X" Factor pouring out of each sweat gland. This one is a sleeper that grows on you because it's so easy on the ears. Well played. Well sung with no flubs. Decent set list (I'm ignoring R&R since I spliced Werewolves after Wharf Rat.). You can tell the Boyz are having a lot of fun. And this is a phenomenal matrix! I kept thinking 4+? I can't in good conscience give this five? But hell, why not? It' s just too good a performance and mix to not sneak in a five.

One more thing. Having listened to this half a dozen times now - there are hotter shows and there are longer shows. But there aren't many better shows to add to your collection.

Tremendous, soft, sweet Peggy-O. It's nice to have some crowd as well. Towards the last verse of the song the band brings it waaaay down. Soft drums and a bit of guitar and bass and sweet singing. Great version. The soundboard of this is fantastic, but if you want some crowd ambiance, Hunter has mixed up a matrix for you.
